The Institute Examined of Private Tutoring Phenomenon in Georgia


The International Institute for Education Policy, Planning and Management, with the financial support of the Policy, Advocacy, and Civil Society Development Program of the East-West Management institute, implemented research project “Examining of Private Tutoring Phenomenon in Georgia”. In frames of the project practice of the private tutoring was analyzed and the results are presented in the research report. 

The Institute conducted national curricula review


The Institute conducted national curricula review to map the content that is either explicitly aligned with the teaching for sustainable development, or related to it. Based on mapping results recommendations had been developed to show how the existing curricula content can be modified to contribute to ESD. Besides curricular mapping it is looking into the subject curricula and textbooks concerning the ESD content, to provide a clearer idea of how important goals expressed in the Framework Curriculum are presented directly to the students. Respective advocacy campaign would be organized in the frames of MATRA project. 

Trainings in advocacy and fundraising campaigns

During the autumn-winter of 2011, starting from October 6, in the frames of the project “Introducing the Model of Community Mobilization around Environmental Issues in Georgia” participating school BoTs will receive the series of trainings that includes modules in advocacy and fundraising campaigns.

Education Access and Equity in Georgia

From July 1 the International Institute for Education Policy Planning and Management starts the implementation of the project Education Access and Equity in Georgia” which is financed by OSI/ESP. More information about project you could find in the attachment.

Starting from 1 July 2011 the International Institute for Education Policy Planning and Management is implementing new project “Examining Private Tutoring in Georgia” financed by East West Management Institute.

Summer School

Trainings on “Community Mobilization on Environmental Issues” is being implemented

In frames of the project “Introducing the Model of Community Mobilization around Environmental Issues in Georgia” a new cycle of trainings on “Community Mobilization on Environmental Issues” is being implemented from May 23 till June 15. In parallel, from June 6 the target schools are involved in the training on “Identification and solving environmental problems”.

The boards of trustees of mentioned schools as well as other interested persons from the school communities were provided with an overview of project goals and idea and with the training on networking issues. In the beginning of May the similar workshops were held in the schools of West Georgia.
